UPDATE: More Lawsuits Filed Against 3M on Behalf of Veterans

The attorneys at Montgomery & Ponder, LLC are continuing file cases against 3M Corporation related to earplugs used by soldiers in combat. The earplugs were worn by servicemen and women in the Army, Navy, and the Air Force from 2003 to 2015. Thousands of veterans have complained of hearing loss and tinnitus since returning from duty after using these earplugs. In July 2018, 3M paid $9.1 million to settle a whistleblower lawsuit claiming the company knowingly sold defective Combat Arms Earplugs to the military. Active duty military members and veterans who served between 2003 and 2015 and suffered hearing loss or tinnitus may file a 3M Combat Arms Earplugs lawsuit for compensation.

Presently, there are over 2,000 lawsuits in a Florida federal court against 3M related to these earplugs. These lawsuits on behalf of soldiers accuse 3M of knowingly committing fraud against the U.S. military, failing to warn the military and soldiers of the earplugs’ defects, and falsifying earplug test results, among other allegations. 3M advertised these earplugs as being able to protect soldiers’ ears against all sound. They are dual-ended, and designed for soldiers to use the olive colored side to protect against all sounds, or the yellow colored side to protect against explosions but allow soldiers to hear spoken commands. More lawsuits will continue to be filed against 3M related to these earplugs on behalf of veterans and active duty military.

If you or a loved one are active duty military members or veterans and have been diagnosed with hearing loss or tinnitus as a result of 3M Combat Arms Earplugs, please contact the attorneys at Montgomery & Ponder, LLC at (205) 377-5004.
