We will discuss Ethicon – Physiomesh implants today and the other manufacturers in future blog posts.
Ethicon - Physiomesh™
In May 2016, Ethicon, a division of Johnson & Johnson, recalled its Physiomesh™ Flexible Composite Mesh from the market. Studies have shown higher rates of hernias reoccurring and the need for additional surgery to remove the defective mesh and revise the initial surgery. The product is intended to repair hernias, but many people have experienced major health problems.
