The attorneys at are Montgomery & Ponder, LLC are investigating injuries involving the DePuy Attune® Knee Replacement System. Patients who received this knee implant are reporting premature device failure – some occurring within the first two months of surgery. Many of these reports are based on tibial baseplate loosening, which may result in serious pain along with bone loss, muscle damage, and infection. DePuy Attune® Knee Replacement System failure often requires painful and invasive revision surgery, and some of the damage caused by these defective knee implants may be irreversible.
Pain is the most common symptom of DePuy Attune® loosening. This pain may be constant and throbbing, relentlessly causing discomfort no matter what steps are taken to diminish the pain. Sharp and acute pain when walking is also a common result of these failed knee implants.
Other symptoms experienced by patients with the DePuy Attune® Knee Replacement such as:
- Instability or loosening
- Swelling and reduces mobility
- Warmth in the knee producing a constant throbbing
- Decreased range of motion
- Persistent pain
Often times, the only medical solution for patients who experience a premature failure of their Attune® Knee System is to undergo a revision surgery to remove the implant and replace it. These revision surgeries are often more painful and invasive than the initial replacement surgery.
If you or a loved one has had total knee replacement since 2013 and experienced any of the symptoms listed above, please contact Montgomery & Ponder, LLC at (205) 377-5004.
